The Champagne
The Aria Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut is one of our new favorite Champagnes, combining elegance and freshness!
This single-varietal Chardonnay Champagne comes from the unique vineyards of Troissy. The soils, a fascinating mosaic of chalk, sand, limestone, marl, clay and carbonate rock, with brown clay as the main component, give the champagne its unmistakable minerality. With a dosage of just 2.4 grams, Aria has a precise, dry style. After tirage in April 2020, it rested for almost three years before the noble dégorgement was completed in February 2023.
Tasting Note
In the glass: A lively straw yellow with a fine, sparkling mousse.
On the nose: A complex bouquet of limequat, lemon and grapefruit. These are joined by subtle bread crust, grated hazelnuts and almonds, as well as delicate brioche notes, framed by stony, mineral accents.
On the palate: A delightful tension with lively acidity and a sparkling perlage. Dry, slightly grippy and harmonious, with citrus notes that unfold in an elegant, creamy finish.
Goes well with
- Grilled scallops with a touch of lemon and chili
- Fresh lobster with delicate lemon sauce
- Romaine lettuce with crispy bacon and Parmesan
- Rosemary lamb chops, served with pickled lemon and garlic
The Champagne House Alexis
The Champagne Alexis winery is a unique project by Alexis Leconte, a member of the sixth generation of the traditional Champagne Xavier Leconte house. Founded in 2015, biodynamic cultivation, parcel-based vinification and a passion for detail are at the heart of his philosophy. With the main grape variety Meunier from Troissy and Pinot Noir from Aÿ, champagnes of fascinating depth, complexity and harmony are created. Each bottle reflects the rich family tradition and the modern signature of Alexis – a true delight for champagne lovers.
