Today, more and more Champagne houses and cooperatives are discovering the benefits of organic winegrowing for their best cuvées. This is because many sustainably grown vines are immune to fungal attack and often more resilient to withstand irregular seasons. By 2025, the Comité Champagne plans to eliminate all herbicides from grapevines. Some certifications have been introduced for this purpose.
All of the organic champagnes we offer are from houses that meet at least the EC organic standard. Many of them are also members of an association such as Demeter, L’Associaton des Champagnes Biologiques and La Renaissance des Appellations and thus meet even stricter requirements. The conversion process to organic production is very long, therefore not all champagnes of the organic champagne houses are already certified – our organic champagnes are marked in the product title.
