The Champagne
The vintage champagne Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2013 was made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from the Grand Cru villages of Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. 20% of the wine was vinified in small oak barrels. Bruno Paillard allows this vintage to mature for at least 7 years in the cellar, including at least 18 months of rest after disgorging. This powerful and delicate vintage champagne is rounded off with a dosage of just 4.5 g/l (extra brut). Only 15,173 bottles were produced..
The year 2013 – a year with optimal conditions for ripening the grapes.
The year 2013 began with a cold winter and continued with a cool spring, which led to late flowering. The summer was warm and dry, allowing the grapes to ripen evenly. The harvest began at the end of September and produced grapes of excellent quality, especially for Chardonnay. These conditions ensured a perfect balance between ripeness and acidity, which makes the 2013 vintage particularly special.
To visually accompany this vintage, the French artist Anne Commet was commissioned to develop a painting on the theme of “Liberté”. Her work harmoniously combines the liveliness and openness of the wine, symbolizing the freedom and joy that this champagne conveys.
Tasting Note
- The champagne is light gold in color with a fine and very active perlage.
- The vintage champagne is initially reserved on the nose, but the wine gradually opens up with fresh aromas of citrus fruits and grapefruit as well as chalky notes.
- This is followed by aromas of ripe stone fruit, light honey and toast notes and a hint of marzipan.
On the palate, the attack is enveloping: a deep, almost fleshy-creamy structure. - The fruity notes perceived on the nose are also found on the palate. In addition to the chalky notes typical of Bruno, there are also slightly salty accents.

The Bruno Paillard Champagne House
Purity, minerality, elegance and complexity
The champagne house was founded in 1981 by its namesake Bruno Paillard and is one of the youngest champagne houses. The founder comes from a family of grape brokers and winegrowers who have lived and worked in the heart of Champagne for more than three centuries. His idea and philosophy is to extract the quintessence from the best crus to create a composition, a great champagne. His champagnes are mainly found in upscale restaurants and specialist wine shops.
